Location and Schedule
This is a remote position. Normal operating hours are M-F, 8:30AM-4:30PM (CST). NCFH, Inc. is largely a remote working environment apart from specific positions that require a hybrid schedule and commute to our home office.

Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating and planning research projects and data collection projects, assisting in qualitative data collection and analysis, and supporting other research activities. 

Qualifications, Education and Licensing/Certification
Required:
  • A professional level of knowledge/practical work experience/skills in public health, sociology, public policy, project management, or a related field
  • Two-three years of experience
  • Master’s degree (an additional four years of experience in related work and attainment of a bachelor’s degree may substitute for a master’s degree)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience coordinating research projects and managing adherence to research protocols
  • Demonstrated experience with qualitative research methods and strong written communication skills
  • Experience in developing qualitative data collection tools
Preferred:
  • Analyzing qualitative data
  • Experience working with community-based organizations and immigrant communities (strongly preferred)
  • Experience in mixed methods data collection and analysis

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Rapid Community Assessments 
    • Responsible for identifying, hiring, and training & managing independent contractors who will conduct surveys in different locations in the U.S. 
    • Supports coordinating data collection efforts, including survey data collection and interviews
    • Supports creation of qualitative data collection tools
    • Supports coordination of qualitative data collection, including conducting interviews 
    • Supports transcription, coding, and analyzing qualitative interviews
    • Coordinates and collaborates with core NCFH research staff for data collection and analysis
    • Provides presentations on research projects and research results to external partners and stakeholders as needed
  • General research support
    • Engages with other researchers who conduct farmworker research
    • Supports research projects and acts as a subject matter expert when needed
    • Assists in writing or reviewing academic manuscripts and other research publications
Other Duties
  • Provides support to special projects
  • Participates in NCFH Committees as appropriate

Nature and Method of Work
Work is professional level, requiring application of professional theory and practices.   Duties are generally performed independently, with priorities and work plans developed by the employee's manager and monitored periodically.  Communication with individuals in response to requests is low.  The impact of the employee's work on the overall performance of NCFH may affect a large segment of the business and goodwill of the organization. Some travel may be required.

Physical Ability and Work Environment
The employee is regularly required to perform work duties at an onsite office/designated home workspace for extended periods of time. The employee must have the ability to use a computer and other office tools with accuracy. The noise level is usually low to moderate. Regular travel within the U.S., including overnight stays, is required.

Leadership and Supervision
Employee receives direct supervision from the Research Manager. Employee does not provide direction or supervision to other staff but provides direct supervision to independent contractors.

Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years of age.
