Location and Schedule
This is a remote position. Normal operating hours are M-F, 8:30AM-4:30PM (CST). NCFH, Inc. is largely a remote working environment apart from specific positions that require a hybrid schedule and commute to our home office.

Summary
Responsible for organizational communications as it relates to health education resources and services, social media, public relations management, and digital media in support of NCFH objectives. Also responsible for providing professional and technical support for education, training, and product development related services to include graphic design and layout; marketing and branding of services; and implementation of dissemination strategies.

Qualifications, Education and Licensing/Certification
Required:
  • A professional level of knowledge and skills in traditional and digital health communications, at the educational/experiential equivalent of a master’s degree program in communications, journalism, health education, public health or a related field
  • Two years of management or supervisory experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Practical work experience in health-related communications and in the development of digital and print educational materials
  • Competence working with culturally diverse audience and clients, preferably in developing communications for low-literacy and culturally diverse populations, such as agricultural workers or other underserved populations
  • High level of written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer and online literacy skills (Microsoft Office 365, social media platform, and virtual meeting software). 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Communication and Marketing
    • Develops and leads health education media and communications plans for the National Agricultural Worker Program and the organization as required. Works closely with Project Team, Core Partners, advisors, and contractor(s) to develop and implement communication strategies.
    • Conceptualizes and works with team to develop digital and print communication campaigns and other special projects to increase public and constituent awareness of NCFH programs, and objectives to include website promotion, social media, blog, constant contact, etc. 
    • Leads and supervises the development of marketing collateral and/or online materials for specific products for NCFH programs.
    • Provides monitoring, evaluation, and reports on communication activities to inform and develop programmatic goals and evaluate effectiveness of communication and marketing strategies.  
    • Works with leadership team, to develop and lead NCFH organization-wide communications objectives and planning.
    • Manages and monitors contractors.
  • Promotion, Dissemination and Public Relations
    • Manages and supervises national dissemination activities, including website, monthly organizational newsletters, exhibits, and partner activities; works with Program Team, Core Partners, and advisory council staff to plan content; monitors distribution; and develops and evaluates distribution goals and effectiveness based on utilization of promoted products and services.
    • Assesses partner dissemination channels, and develops dissemination strategies for NCFH programs
    • Identifies opportunities to highlight and promote program products, services, and partnerships through public and private media channels
    • Oversees maintenance of NCFH website
    • Designs media releases to increase awareness of Program work and goals; and coordinates response to media requests.
    • Cultivates relationships with press contacts and disseminates information to press when appropriate
    • Monitors and manages contacts in Sales Force and Mail Chimp; creates focused distribution lists for special projects or initiatives
    • Works with NCFH staff to develop and formalize NCFH blog posts to include goals, content, maintenance, and evaluation of reach
    • Oversees NRC Clearinghouse submissions and collaborates with the Health Education Team and the Graphic Design and Website Coordinator on product inventory.
    • Oversees Social media chair, messaging, and dissemination on social media platforms so they align with NCFH’s Corporate Communications strategic direction.
    • Provides supervision of contractors.
    • Leads radio and social media campaigns and collaborates with media consultants for special projects
    • Collaborates with contractor and Program partners in the design and distribution of program materials 
  • Network and Management
    • Engages in communication & collaboration with external partners, including community-based organizations, governmental organizations, and health care providers.
    • Oversees creation and maintenance of network communication platforms (email newsletter; podcast, Facebook group(s))
    • Maintains and creates high-quality partner relationships through:
      • Program consultation, training, and technical support
      • Developing new resources to best support partner needs

Other
  • Participates in management meetings with leadership and contributes to NCFH strategic planning and organizational procedures as needed.
  • Identifies potential partnership opportunities
  • Provides training and TA as needed
  • Participates in internal committees/strategic task forces as appropriate
  • Participates in FORC committee and grant writing as needed.

Nature and Method of Work
Work is management-level, requiring application of professional theory and practices.   Duties are generally performed independently, with priorities and work plans negotiated with the employee’s supervisor and monitored periodically.  Communication with individuals in response to requests is extensive.  The impact of the employee's work on the overall performance of NCFH may affect a large segment of the business and goodwill of the organization. Some travel is required.

Physical Ability and Work Environment
The employee is regularly required to perform work duties at an onsite office/designated home workspace for extended periods of time in NCFH offices and remotely with communication through virtual platforms (Asana and Microsoft Teams). The employee must have the ability to use a computer and other office tools with accuracy. The noise level is usually low to moderate.

Leadership and Supervision
Employee receives direct supervision from the Public Health Programs and Research.  Employee has direct managerial and supervisory responsibility for assigned staff.

Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years of age.
